Why Are Tennis Bracelets Called Tennis Bracelets?

The History of the Tennis Bracelet

Tennis bracelets are typically flexible bracelets made of diamonds. They also incorporate different gemstones and styles. Tennis bracelets are known as such due to a well-known incident on the court involving 80’s tennis pro Chris Evert. It is said that her diamond bracelet became unclasped and fell off during a match. She asked officials to pause the game in order to look for the bracelet, which was eventually found. Other female tennis stars, like Serena Williams and Gabriela Sabatini have continued the trend of wearing these glamorous yet flexible bracelets on the court.
